James Lewis Dennison Jr., a son of James Lewis and Nancy (Anderson) Dennison, was born in 1778. He married Sarah Greathouse on January 21, 1808 in Harrison County VA. Sarah, a daughter of Gabriel and Nancy (Hustead) Greathouse, was born in 1789 in Monongalia County VA.)

1.HERMAN GROETHAUSEN

Herman Groethausen was born in Germany in 1670 and died in Germantown Township, PA October 27, 1743. He arrived in PA in 1710 with a deed for 500 acres of land from William Penn. After several disagreements with the PA commissioners as the the location of his land, he eventually settled mear Philadelphia. About 1741, he built a manor house whose present address is 901 Abington Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA.

Besides the two sons listed, Herman had daughters. One document identifies Christopher Ottinger Jr. as a son in law of Herman, but his wife's name is not known.

John Adolph Groethausen, a son of Herman Groethausen, was born about 1698. He married Amelia Miller. Amelia died in 1774.

GROETHAUSEN

Wilhelm Groethausen, a son of John Adolph and Amelia (Miller) Groethausen, was born about 1724 and died in Harrison County VA about 1792. His will is dated March 5, 1791. He married Anna Marie Puff.

Anna died about 1748. Wilhelm married Barbara Shatzin. Barbara died after July 1797.
